MAKE SCREENING PART OF YOUR MORNING ROUTINE!
Daily Screening Guidelines
All families will need to complete a daily screening prior to arriving at school each day.
It is VERY critical that if showing any symptom - stay home.
Do your part to keep everyone healthy and safe. Complete the daily screener honestly!
PLCS Partners with Children's Hospital & Medical Center to help families conduct daily screening for COVID-19
Through a partnership with Children's Hospital, all PLCS families will have access to a screening app that can be completed daily on your phone or any device. This screening tool will walk families through a series of questions and give you action steps that need to be taken based on your answers. Daily screening is critical in keeping all students and staff healthy and in school.

If Someone in Your Household is Testing for COVID-19: If someone in your household is testing for COVID, the district policy is for ALL students in your household from any of the PLC schools to stay home until the test results come in. We ask this in case the results come back positive.
Before a student may return to school, we need a copy of the test results, negative and positive. You may email a copy to our nurse Ms. Curry @ firstname.lastname@example.org or fax a copy to 402-898-0430. Thank you for helping us keep all our students safe!
Protocol if your student has been exposed to confirmed COVID, follow the guidelines below:
School/Sports Physicals for the 2021-2022 School Year
7th Grade Physicals: Incoming 7th graders be sure to schedule those 7th grade physicals, if you haven’t already. Physicals need to include a TDaP vaccine (and any others your child may need to be up-to-date), sports clearance (if your child wants to participate in a sport), and any action plans your child may need for school. Please ask your doctor to also check height, weight, vision, and hearing if possible.
Up to date immunizations are required for students to begin school.
Parents can bring physicals to the school, fax them to 402-898-0430, or email them to our school nurse Ms. Curry at email@example.com.
8th Grade Sports Physical: Will your 8th grader be playing sports next year? 8th grade students participating in any sport at PMS must have a sports physical. The physical must be completed after May 1 and must clearly state clearance for sports/physical activity, a well check alone will not suffice. If your child has any action plans, those would need to be updated for the current school year. 8th grade students enrolling from outside Nebraska are required to have a current physical and up to date immunizations.
If your student text you that they are not feeling well, please advise them to let their teacher know and they will send them to the Health Office. The Health Office will contact you if necessary. It is very important that all students go through the nurse’s office if they are not feeling well. For student safety, this year we have two health offices. One will be used strictly for students who are not feeling well and the other for medication distribution and all other needs.
Due to limiting our visitors, parents/guardians will not be allowed in the building to pick up your student. Call the school or ring the buzzer and let us know you are here for your student and they will be sent out.
If your student will be absent or arriving late, a parent or guardian needs to contact the school @ 402-898-0424 to report the absence. You may also e-mail Tiffiny Rohn @ firstname.lastname@example.org. Please notify the school prior to 8:30am. A message may be left if the line is busy or after regular school hours. A student will be considered “unexcused” if the absence is not confirmed.
If you need to pick up your student during the school day, please try to call the school at least 30 minutes before your student needs to leave. Your student may also bring a note to the front office before school starts. Parents will remain in their cars when picking up and dropping off students. Students will be released once they see their ride in front of the school.
If you know of an upcoming absence, you may call or email in advance; you do not need to wait until the day of the absence to notify the attendance office.
Coca Cola Points and Pop Tabs
We are collecting Pop Tabs for the Ronald McDonald House in Omaha. Send them with your student and have them drop them in the containers in the 7th & 8th Grade Offices as well as in the Cafeteria during lunch.
If you drink any beverages bottled by the Coca-Cola Company, please send in lids or codes from inside the case. These points are redeemed for cash which we use to support students. You can also scan your own products and select Papillion Middle School as your donation. Containers are in the cafeteria & 7th & 8th Grade Offices. https://us.coca-cola.com/give/
