Kindergarten Enrollment 2018-2019 Now Open
Online enrollment for kindergarten students for the 2018-2019 school year is now open.
Please go to https://enrollment.esu3.org/Login.aspx?sdist=plv and follow the online instructions.
Incoming kindergarten students must be five years of age by July 31, 2018. All kindergarten students must be enrolled online. If you know of a neighbor who is of kindergarten age and might not have others in school, please share this information with them. Kindergarten Roundup will be Friday, March 2nd. We look forward to receiving your online enrollment form. Preschool Screenings for the 2018-19 School Year
Are you interested in having your child attend the Papillion La Vista Community Schools Preschool program during the 2018-2019 school year? Please sign your child up for a free developmental screening activity to be held on March 8th from 4-8 pm at the Papillion La Vista Community Schools Central Office (420 S. Washington Street). In order to be considered for a preschool placement, your child must be 4 years old by July 31, 2018 and you must also reside in the Papillion La Vista Community Schools district. To register for the screening, please call the Early Childhood Center at (402) 514- 3243.
Parent Teacher Student Conferences
Patriot Elementary will be hosting conferences on Wednesday, March 7th, from 3:20-8:00 PM and Thursday, March 8th, from 3:20-7:00 PM. Hopefully you have all has the opportunity to schedule your conference online! This system will also email you a reminder about your conference! It’s Book Fair Time Again!
The Scholastic Book Fair will run March 5th-8th in the Media Center before and after school all week and during both nights of parent teacher conferences. Plan to stop in and talk to our amazing specialists and grab an exciting new book or two to read this spring!
Patriot Art Show
The first annual Patriot art show will be on display on March 7th and 8th. All students will be choosing a piece of artwork during art class to put in the show. While you’re in the building for conferences, please enjoy viewing all the work adorning our halls!
2018 Elementary Summer School
This summer students that qualify for the district elementary summer school program will meet for 20 mornings from 8:30-11:30 on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for 5 weeks during June and July at La Vista West Elementary School.
Summer School dates include:
Week #1 June 11,12,13,14
Week #2 June 18,19,20,21
Week #3 June 25,26,27,28
No School July 2-6
Week #4 July 9,10,11,12
Week # 5 July 16,17,18,19
Elementary Summer School is a district wide intervention that has a focus of improving student’s reading skills for those students currently in Kindergarten through 5th grades. Students that currently participate in the district common summative language arts assessments are considered for participation in the summer program. Students are invited to attend Summer School based on their performance on district reading summative assessments. Assessment data will be collected and reviewed in March and those students that qualify for the program will be contacted in April with additional information.
Starting this year, Patriot students will be designing and creating the school yearbook!
Yearbook ordering is now going on NOW thru December 31st. Yearbooks ordered on or before this date are $20. Starting on January 1st through February 28th, the price increases to $25. Don't delay, own your piece of Patriot history today! NO extra yearbooks will be ordered!
Please make sure to include your child's teacher's last name only when ordering. This is to ensure that your child’s yearbook will get to correct classroom at the end of the year. Patriot Elementary is a Closed Building
Patriot is considered a “closed” school. If you move out of our attendance area, you may only be allowed to finish the current school year here. Any requests beyond that will not be approved. The district uses this process to help manage school/class sizes as much as possible. Please contact Student Services at 402-537-6214 if you have questions.

Attention Parents: Please call the office at 402-898-0405 by 8:30am to report absenteeism, appointments where students need to be released early or arrive late. Before and after school hours, you will reach our night answering machine. Please leave a message with your student’s name, date of absence and reason for absence.
Feel free to call when you are on your way so that the office is able to retrieve your student(s) from class and have them waiting for you to arrive.
To email the front office about an absence, please send to the following: firstname.lastname@example.org and /or email@example.com. If you are emailing your student’s teacher about any absences, please “cc” the front office at the above email addresses. You may also send in a note.
Please refer to the Patriot Parent Handbook for more information on student absences and tardies. If you did not receive a handbook, contact the front office and we will be sure to get you one.

Parents we are asking if you are coming to have lunch with your child and would like to eat a HOT lunch, that you call us no later than 8:25 a.m. that day to order. We do not order extra lunches so if we do not hear from you, we will not be able to provide you with a lunch. Payment is made when you arrive in the lunchroom and exact change is required. The cost of an adult lunch is $3.00.
