Note From The Nurse
Winter season is upon us! With that comes coughs, colds and runny noses. Please keep in mind the school guidelines when deciding if your child should come to school. Please keep your child home if he/she has any of the following:
Fever (100 degrees or greater) – your child must be fever free without the use of medication for 24 hours before he/she can return to school
Strep throat – must have completed 24 hours of antibiotics before returning to school
Uncontrollable vomiting or diarrhea
Eye redness accompanied by drainage
If you suspect the flu or other contagious illness (fever, body aches, headache, cough, congestion)
If your child is diagnosed with a contagious illness (influenza, strep throat, pink eye, etc.), please notify the school and provide a doctor note with confirmation of the specific illness.
In the event that your child becomes ill and needs to go home during the school day, the health office will contact you via phone to let you know. If you have questions about your child’s health, please do not hesitate to call the health office at (402)514-3603.
We wish you a healthy holiday season!!

If your student will not be at school, a parent or guardian needs to contact the school @ 402-514-3600 to report the absence. You may also e-mail Carrie Callahan with your absences. Please notify the school prior to 8:30am. A message may be left if the line is busy or after regular school hours. A student will be considered “unexcused” if the absence is not confirmed.
Parents should try to avoid taking students out of school for appointments if possible. If it is necessary, it is helpful if you call ahead or have your student bring a note to the front office when they arrive at school. If you wish to have the absence waived, your child may bring a signed note from the doctor when they return to school.
Building Hours and Supervision
School hours: 8:00am - 3:10pm
Late Start Wednesdays - On Wednesdays, school will start at 8:20am. The late start will have no impact on parent’s schedules. Students can still enter the building at their normal time.
We encourage students to arrive no earlier than 7:30am, as that is the time student supervision begins. Students not involved in after school activities need to be off school grounds by3:30pm, as there is no supervision after that time.
