Save the Date! Early Check-in Aug. 6th
Liberty Middle School will be offering an Early Check-In to help students become acclimated with the upcoming school year on Fri., Aug. 6. Schedules and locker assignments will not be available until Early Check-In. Students who are unable to attend check-in, will pick up materials on the first day of school.
Students will take school pictures, receive schedules, deposit money into student lunch accounts, meet the counselor, administrator, and take care of medical concerns with the school nurse. More details will be sent out in July.
LMS Summer Band Camp
Liberty Middle School will be offering Summer Band from August 2nd-5th in the LMS band room, with offerings for ALL incoming band students that will be enrolled at Liberty Middle School. (LMS's Student Check in is Aug. 6th) Summer band is free of charge and highly encouraged, not required, for ALL incoming 7th and 8th grade band students!
*Please note that, in order to offer this camp, we are planning to follow all currently held Covid-19 guidelines. This includes mask-wearing when not playing, social distancing, bell covers, and sanitizing our space following each group. If anything changes over the summer, participants will be notified.
Summer band is a great opportunity for the incoming 7th graders and new students to meet new friends, get better acquainted with the school and get to know the director. Returning 8th graders will continue to improve their skills as they prepared for the accelerated pace of 8th grade band.
Students going into 8th grade band that are interested in auditioning for the NSBA 8th Grade All-State Band (should already have music for this) have the opportunity to sign up for a 30 minute free private lesson the Friday before summer band, July 30th. Please communicate with your student to see if they are auditioning for the All State Band. Sign ups will be filled on a first-come first-serve basis.
Student can pick up paper copies from the band room with the full information and the paper registration, OR fill out the google form to register. https://forms.gle/G7tP9ojw2zudgusv7

Action Plans (all grades)
In order for your child to be cared for appropriately and safely, Papillion La Vista Community Schools asks that all parents with children who have asthma, severe allergies, diabetes or seizures keep an action plan on file in the health office. This includes students that self-manage their asthma or diabetes. All forms, including medication permits, are available for you to download from the district website at https://www.plcschools.org/parents under "Health Services", or from your school nurse. Please print the forms that you need and take them to your child’s doctor for updates. Send in the completed forms, with medications, to the school health office on or before the first day of school. Remember, new care plans are required each school year. Thank you for your cooperation.
On Tuesday May 18th, we will begin sending home medications that have been stored in the health office this year. We will send home inhalers and epi-pens on Thursday, May 20th. Any medications that are left at the school after Friday, May 21st, will be properly disposed of. If you do not want your child to bring their medication home, and you would rather pick it up yourself, please contact the health office at 402-514-3603. Thank you!
Visitors to the Building
Visitors will be greeted through the intercom/doorbell system with screening questions. Our secretaries are required to ask these questions. If you have something to drop off, we will ask you to leave it in the Drop Zone and we will come retrieve it. Depending on other needs, we will work with you on the best way to meet your needs while also limiting visitors to the building. An appointment or phone call will need to be made if you are needing to come into the building and a mask will be required.
Please make sure when you are dropping items off, you have your student's name on it. Having items, especially personal items in bags would appreciated.
